Human development is usually measured by looking at several factors such as life expectancy, education, health, etc.
- Norway has the highest rank in the human development index which is prepared by United Nations. Nigeria is among the last countries in terms of the human development index. Nepal is ranked 142 among 189 countries on the list of human development indexes.
- So Nepal is much lower on this index than Norway. This difference is due to the fact that HDI masks inequality in the distribution of development among countries taking the population of that country.
- If the inequality rises the rank in HDI decreases.
