how does nutrition occur in amoeba

amoeba takes in food through their fingerlike projections called pseudopodia and a food vacuole is formed. Then they take the nutrients and then slowly the wastes are thrown away.

Amoeba consumes food with the help of pseudopodia. Pseudopodia are temporary finger like projection of the cell surface , which fuse over the food particle . It is inside the food vacuole that complex substance are boken down into simpler ones. These are then diffused into the cell cytoplasm. The type of nutrition in amoeba is holozoic nutrition.
