1. Amoeba engulfs food by temporary finger-like projections of its body surface called pseudopodia.

2. When a pseudopodium fuses with the food particle, it forms a food vacuole.

3. Complex substances are broken down into simple substances inside the food vacuole. These simple substances are then diffused into the cytoplasm.

4. The remaining unwanted material is taken to the cell surface and is thrown out.

Amoeba is a unicellular organism....

Now nutrition intake of amoeba is done through its pseudopodia..

1) it extends its false feet (pseudopodia) around the in coming food material

2) it totally captures it by its pseudopodia forming a vacuole.

3) it pulls the vacuole inside... And digests it... Secreting enzymes.
