Hydra is a simple, aquatic organism it catches its food in the form of pray by elongated structures called tentacles. Attach bud to parent hydra exhibit tentacles as those present in parent hydra. On touching a tentacle, stenoteles  penetrate the prey body and induces a poisonous toxin in it. Tentacles help to move the prey towards the mouth. It will normally swallow live prey.
