Combustion is process of burning of substance in the presence of air or oxygen to obtain heat and light.
The substance which undergoes combustion is called combustible.
For example :
1)Burning of carbon in the presence of air to obtain CO .
2)Burning of methane in the presence of oxygen to obtain CO .
From the following example,we can see that oxygen is necessary condition for the process of
combustion to take place,so oxygen is called as supporter of combustion.Generally in process of combustion
oxygen is provided by the air around us.So,we can say that air is also a supporter of combustion.
There are 3 important conditions for combustion to take place :
a)Combustible substance
b)Supporter of combustion
c)Ignition temperature
