So it is essential to regulate campaigns to ensure that every political party and candidate gets a fair and equal chance to compete. According to our election law, no party or candidate can:

A. bribe or threaten voters.

B. appeal to them in the name of caste or religion.

C. use government resources for the election campaign.

D. spend more than 25 laths in a constituency for the Lok Sabha election or 10 lakh in a constituency in an assembly election.

If they do so and are elected, their election can be rejected by the court.

•Use of government vehicles, aircraft, offcials for elections is not allowed.

•Once elections are announced , ministers shall not lay any foundation stones of any project or big policy or make any promises to the government.

•Not allowed to spend more than 10 lakhs in assembly elections and more than 25 lakhs in lok sabha elections.
