How does our society makes clear distinctions between boys and girls?

it is quite simple at a young age boys are given cars and girls dolls. even though sometimes the children might not like what they have been gifted with ;they are expected to play with it. girls are told to pick up feminine tasks such as cooking, singing , housekeeping etc. the boys are told to pick up tasks such as martial arts, sports etc. husband's who take care of babies are insulted and is told to be henpecked even if he likes to take care of children. the society says that only the females take care of children.
