Yes, indeed it is true that overgrazing leads to desertification. usually animals like cow etc feed on mostly small plants or grass but when they feed in one place number of times the height of the grass decreases and if again the animal comes to feed itself from the same area now it has to pull it very hard when the animal does ithis way then the grass will come out with its roots if this happens there is no chance of regrowth of the plant in that place, therefore, the land becomes desertified
