the pH value of the acidic solution increases with dillution and the pH values of basic solution decreases with solution . it's because by dillution the concentration of the H+ ions of the acidic reduses by the dillution the concentration of the OH- ions of a base reduses.

The pH of a basic solution is greater than 7.

As you dilute a solution, it becomes more and more like pure water. So the pH moves closer to the pH of water pH 7. The pH decreases on dilution.
