Phototropism

The directional movement of plant in response to light is called phototropism.

How does it occurs?

• A plant harmone called Auxin which is a growth harmone is used to of residing in shady areas.

• When a potted plan is kept near window then the auxins move in shady part away from light.

• Hence the shadier side starts growing faster and plant bends towards light.

• Here the shoot shows positive phototropism and roots inversely bends away from light showing negative phototropism.
