PIL ( Public Interest Litigation) helped many people in many ways!
1)Before 1980s filing of Litigation was very costly and the poor could not afford going to court. It was time time consuming too.
2)The Supreme court in the 1980s devised a new mechanism of PIL or Public Interest Litigation which allowed any individual or organisation to file a PIL in the high court or the supreme court on behalf of those whose rights were being violated.
3)The legal process was greatly simplified pil even a letter or telegram addressing supreme court or high court can be considered as a PIL.
