Fertilisation. Only after pollination, when pollen has landed on the stigma of a suitable flower of the same species, can a chain of events happen that ends in the making of seeds. A pollen grain on the stigma grows a tiny tube, all the way down the style to the ovary.

Heyaa folk,
Fertilization occurs only when there occurs Pollination. Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther to the stigmatic surface of a flower. When any of the flower's stigma getting landed with pollen, the chain of events starts to happening. It ends to making of the seeds. The tiny tube grows by the help of pollen grains of stigma.
Hope it helps u :)
