Population growth means the increase in population in terms of people . Population growth has many effects on the environment and the basic resources . Most adversely affected resource is water .
Population growth affects the water supply in the following ways :
- More amount of people but the water on Earth is limited . Even do alot of water is found everywhere only 3% of it is consumable and even in that most of them are found frozen in glacier forms .
- Water is necessary for everyday basic works . Water as used in industries as well . When there is a huge amount of Need For water ; it is not treated properly and contaminated water is left for consuming . This may cause many diseases .
- The more the population more agriculture must be practice in order to provide food for such huge number of people . For agriculture 70% of water is required just for irrigation and over a large plot of area water shortage can be seen .
- More the people more wastage of water would be seen .
- Increase a number of population more factories and industries are built up which also need water .
Thus it is necessary to use water wisely and not let the population increase .
