Work(W) done is defined as the change in energy(∆E).
Power (P)is amount of energy changed or work done in some finite time.
P=W/∆t where ∆t is for how long is the work done.
W=P∆t
Assume 2 car with 1000 horsepower(unit of P) and 2000 horsepower running on road for 1 hour.
W=1000*1=1000
W=2000*1=2000
So work is directly proportional to power.
