As depth in a liquid increases, the pressure exerted by it also increases.As we know that the pressure on a point in liquid is dependent on the water column over it, so more the height of the water column, the more will be the pressure. As we go deep down,the height of water column increases and hence the pressure.

Actually ,

P = hρg ,

It is pressure exerted by a liquid column ,

h = height of liquid column

ρ = density of liquid

, Its clear from above expression that P ∝ h & P ∝ ρ ,

It was about mathematical proof , now theoritical , As we go deep into any liquid , F starts increasing on that particular body , As we go more deep , Force starts acting from every direction on that particular body . Due to which body compresses in that liquid , its size appear to be shorter , Now P = F/A , If F increases P increases

TPS: When we are under water, the pressure acting on us is due to the weight of water column directly above us. When we go down, the height of water column increases. Hence the weight of water(due to which pressure is acting on us) increases. That's why pressure increases.
