How does pressure exerted by liquid change in depth

Because the weight of water increases under water as there is more water above it

The pressure exerted by a liquid is small just under the surface of the liquid. But as we go we deeper in a liquid the pressure of liquidincreases.As the depth of liquid increases the weight of liquidcolumn pushing down from above increases and hence thepressure also increases.
