Heya❤
☆Acid rain is caused by a chemical reaction that begins when compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released into the air.
☆ It is caused when the pH of the rain , that is, 5.0; reduces due to human activities. Change in the pH of rain results in the formation of Acid rain.

Answer:
the fossil fuels are contain of sulphur and nitrogen in very small quantities thus when they are burnt they release oxides of sulphur and nitrogen. these oxides then dissolve in the rain water and makes it acidic in nature(because oxides of non metallic elements are acidic in nature). this thus makes the rain water acidic in nature
hope i could solve your query
