rain is liquid water in the form of droplets that have condensed from atmospheric water vapour and then become heavy enough to fall under Gravity rain is major component of the water cycle and is responsible for depositing most of the freshwater on earth

Water commonly occurs in the atmosphere in the form of watervapour. If it cools down, it cancondense, accumulating in clouds. As the clouds grow, they become heavier and can fall back to the Earth asprecipitation (rain, snow, hail or sleet) or re-evaporate back into vapour.
