How does respiration take place in stem and roots of the plants?

as plant have green pigment in their stem also and have root hairs in their root.as a result they must do respiration without having leaves you can take the example of cactus only have a spine in rather of leaves so they easily take carbon dioxide with the help of stem and their roots hairs

In roots of plants they respire through root hairs and in stem they respire through stomata
