Seasonal unemployment is a major reason for food insecurity in India. It mainly affects people living in rural areas who depend on agriculture for livelihood and casual labourers in owns and cities whose job does no have any long term security.Agriculture is also a seasonal affair so farmers remain unemployed for most of the time in a year which make them food insecure.

Similarly, casual labourers also remain unemployed when there is no work for them. This make them food insecure as they do not posses any money to buy food. This is how seasonal unemployment affects food security.
