Answer:

unicellular organisms - takes in food from the water and digests  it in organelles known as food vacuoles. Nutrients from the food travel through the cytoplasm to the surrounding organelles , helping the cell and thus the organism to survive.

multicellular organisms - ( in humans ) as food is eaten , it is broken down by the teeth and is carried down to the stomach through the oeophagus. Chemical reactions occur in the stomach causing the food to break down further. The food is then directed to the small intestine where nutrients from the food is absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to all parts of the body.
