How does slaked slime help in the treatment of acidic soil?

Hello.

Slaked lime helps in treatment of acidic soil as it is a basic substance. Slaked lime in common terms is called calcium hydroxide. So it basically neutralizes the acidic conditions of the soil. Thus making it neutral.
