3) When the Bastille prison was taken in July, Louis XVI gave recognition to the National assembly and accepted that his powers will be limited by the constitution.
4) On 4 August 1789, the Assembly passed an announcement eliminating the feudal system of taxes.
5) Thus the monarchy came to an end and a constitution came into being.
