how does solid graphite conduct electricity

Graphite is made up of several layers of carbon bonds, present above one another in space. Now, each of those layers have weak bonds, so they slide over one another. Also, they have one or more free Delocalised electrons (electrons which can move about freely). This facilitates the flow of electricity.
