Streamlined bodies come in contact with less air resistance this is the reason they cut the amount of friction and helps the ship or bird to move smoothly. And this is the reason why all the means of transport in air and water are made up in streamlined shape

Aeroplane

Streamlining reduces air resistance because it reduces the surface area of the moving object that is put under a large force by the air.

Example :-

The bodies of cars ,aeroplanes nd rockets are streamlined to reduce friction. the bodies of boats and ships are also streamlined to reduce the friction of water currents.
