How does the amount of DNA remain constant though each new generation is a combination of DNA copies of two individuals ?

special lineages of cells helps to solve this problem .this is present in the reproductive tissues. the gamates are haploid and thus have only half the no of normal set of chromosome. when the two gamates fuses to form zygote the zygotes restores the normal no of chromosomes
