Toto was a very mischievous monkey. He had been doing topsy-turvy things in the house. He was always involved tearing things to pieces and had broken many expensive dishes in the house. The author finds it difficult for his family to afford the frequent loss of dishes. So he says ," Toto was not the sort of pet we could keep for long."
