Auxin gets degraded in the sunlight and therefore it is prominently found only in the regions that does not receive any much sunlight.

Explanation:

  • The region in the tip is almost depleted of auxin and thereby the auxin diffuses to the shaded regions elongating and growing the cells of that region.
  • This causes the plant to bend towards the tip that is towards the sunlight.
  • Auxin is a hormone that is responsible for cell elongation and cell division.
