The central nervous system (CNS) in humans consists of the brain and spinal cord. When a receptor is stimulated, it sends a signal along the nerve cells - neurones - to the brain. The brain then co-ordinates the response.

Each sense organ have different receptors. The brain receive the information the nerves or sensory nerves.
for eg:- tongue contains olfactory receptor. If any hot food we eat that information is send to the backbone , backbone to brain and brain decides what is that substance and tells not to eat that again through the backbone and sensory nerves it comes to tongue and tells .
hope this helps you
