from it's long Roots which hi deeper in the sand which helps on gaining water

reducing its leaves to spines in order to reduce transpiration. a thick waxy cuticle is also present on the surface of the leaves for this purpose.

modifying the stem into flattened structures for performing photosynthesis and meeting the food requirements.
