Cattle egret is a small, white bird often found beside a grazing animal which we see when we are on a village side tour.

So why does the Egret follow the grazing animals? is it wasting the time following him/her?

The answer is absolutely no. Egret is an intelligent bird. it has a living purpose behind its following. Egrets follow the grazing animals because the grazing of the grass by the animal disturbs the insects which are enjoying their life under the grass and there is no choice for them except to move away from the grazing mouth of the animal. Actually Egret is waiting for this movement of insects because it is difficult to find and catch an insect on its own. Now it seizes the opportunity with the help of his/her grazing friend and eats the insects which are forced away. In this way the Egrets survive the battle of life. some times the egret rides on these animals and eat the bugs on the skin of the animal. This type of relationship with the other biological species is known as Commensalism. In this relationship one species benefits from the other and the other species remains unaffected. here the Egret is benefited and his grazing friend is unaffected.

As the Egrets are most often found near the mouth of the grazing cattle and cattle is the reason they survive the life on earth, Egrets added the word Cattle in their name as a honorable gift to their grazing friends.

In the words of Brainly we can say that Cattle Egret is a Brainly Bird. Hope the Species survives the next generations without any problems because of HUMANS!
