Simple reaction here,copper sulphate crystal gains its colour and structure due to its water of crystalization.

When we heat it it will loose the water molecules and will turn white from its colour blue.

Here is the reaction
CuSO4.5H2O(s)------------>CuSO4(s)+5H2O(g)

Thanks.

Helloo!!

Copper sulphate contains 5 molecules of water of crytsallisation

It is denoted by the chemical formula CuSO4.5H2O. These 5 molecules of water of crytsallisation are responsible for the blue colour of the salt. However, when copper sulphate is heated for some time, the blue colour disappears and it becomes white-gray in colour. This is because the water molecules are lost on heating and copper sulphate pentahydrate is converted to anhydrous copper sulphate.It is also called Blue Vitriol!!

Chemical Reaction of CuSO4.5H2O

CuSO4.5H2O Δ(heat) CuSO4 + 5H2O!!

hope it helps!!
