Our constitution were aware of the challenges of communalism and they choose to have a secular state .
# there is no official religion for the Indian state . Our constitution does give a special status to any one religion .
# the constitution provides to all individuals freedom to profess , propagate Any religion or not to follow any !
#constitution prohibits discrimination on the basis of any particular religion
#at the same time the constitution allows the state to intervene in the matters of religion in order to ensure equality within religious communities
. For eg : it bans untouchability
these shows how our constitution ensures secularism

Secularism implies no unique status is given to any religion. It is simply not a philosophy of certain gatherings or people.
1. There is no official religion for the Indian States, dissimilar to the status of Buddhism in Sri lanka or that of Islam in pakistan.
2. The constitution gives opportunity to all to dissent, rehearse and spread any religion, or not follow any.
4. The constitution precludes separation on grounds of religion.
5. The constitution permits state to intercede in the issues of religion so as to guarantee balance inside strict networks. For instance it bans unapproachability.
