the moral duty of the bishop is to help te needy one and to show path to d wrong doers...as confessed by convict himself ony tht intially he was a man but due to circumstance he was made a wild beast with his name as a number..when bishop tried to teach him his holy preaching than he stoped him frm doin so..but when he was caught by the seargent and was brought back to d bishop than d bishop confessed tht d convict was his frnd and as he had givn him company in his supper therefore he was rewarded d candelstick this kind nature of bishop made him shameful and meletd his heart thus turning him again into human being..
