How does the copy of dna remain constant through each new generation in the combination of dna copies of two individual?

We have 46 chromosomes which contain DNA each parent gives 23 pair of chromosomes and before pass it to the next generation DNA copies it self this process is know as replication
hence it remains constant through each generation
