How does the design of the human body solve the problem of being hurt when we suddenly come across a dangerous situation?
Answers
The human body has three basic mechanisms to handle injury and dangerous situations. They are Fight, Flight and Fright.
These responses are triggered by tiny hormonal glands located above the kidney, which release adrenaline when the body is stressed out. Stress can be of different types such as muscle fatigue or an injury. However, these three responses enable the body to survive such situations.
The fight response forces the person to physically try and get out of the situation. The flight response allows the person to flee the place as soon as possible to prevent him from coming to harm. The fright response is more of a disadvantage since it shocks the body into paralysis. That is why we feel like we cannot run when we are faced by a dangerous situation.
