How does the diaphram help in the process of breathing ?

as we take in air , the diaphragm moves down. this increases the space in the chest cavity and air rushes into our lungs. during exhalation,the diaphragm upto its formal position.

when we breathe in, the diaphragm fattens as a result out chest cavity becomes larger.and vise versa during exaltation.
