Answer:

distance is the measurement of travel.

displacement is the shortest distance between 2 points. So they are different sometimes.

When we travel along a straight line, our distance and displacement are the same.

But when you travel along a straight path and then take a turn, displacement and distance differ. Some examples of difference between distance and displacement are in the picture.

Also we need to do remember that displacement between two points is always a straight line.
