hi
most peasants survived on very small incomes
the company revenue demands failure of crops and costly social customs such as marriages and festival forced the peasant to either sell part of their land or borrow money from the village money lender
since the peasants considered the land as a mother they almost always refused to sell it so borrowing money from the money lender was only the option left
and the money lenders charged high rate of interest
the new revenue collection system created a class of zamindarn who are completely in different to the Welfare of the farmers there only aim was to extract the maximum from the peasant they did nothing to improve agriculture and the facilities were not up to the mark but the revenue was too much high
hope it will help you
