In an atom there are 3 sub atomic particles-
◆proton[inside nucleus]
◆Electeon[ periphery of atom]
◆Neutron [Inside atom]
so when electron projected and it came near an atom then the electron present in Atom repel the outsider electron that is coming towards atom's nucleus.
That repulsion from inner electron leads to the deceleration of electron.
