Answer:

It is a Looong Story See the Explanation

Explanation:

So basically English was the Mother Tongue of the People of England on the Island of Great Britain

Following the Unification of Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales in 1707 with the Act of Union 1707 , England basically conquered the the Country because the Main Power Lay with the English. Anyway, Great Britain then Entered the Colonization Era at Full swing and conquered Vast Regions in Many different Regions. At its Empire's Peak, it had Large Swathes of Land in Africa, Modern Day India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Canada and the Famous 13 States with later formed United States of America, Also Australia, New Zealand, ... There are a Lot Actually

Later when these places were freed from the British Rule, they started using English and as Time went on and on, many regions discovered that English was A Unifying Factor among them because by then many had learnt the English Language and thus English Became an International Language

Hope this Helped
