Answer:

Explanation:

The narrators events on “My First Day on the Job “ affected him by making him to believe in himself that he can manage doing that job as a reporter, though he had a little knowledge background about it. He had majored in English and wanted to be a writer. He had sent numerous resumes which only managed to secure him only one interview, of which, he was very unqualified at that time and did manage to be successful for employment. He then networked with a woman whom he worked with as a part-timer who informed him about a reporter’s vacancy, which he applied knowing he was not trained as a journalist. He was called for interview and to his surprise, he was offered the job though he didn’t even know all the rules dealing with journalism since it was not his major. During his first assignment as a reporter, he was sent to the field to collect information and make a report on the “State education department announcement that was affecting school aids”. This changed his perception about the job since he realized he could use some of the previous class knowledge on “reporter skills 101” and went ahead and did a commendable job.
