A generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction
When two magnets are kept and a coil is spun between the magnets cutting the magnetic field
So this change in magnetic field induce current in the coil

The electric generator works on the principle of ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION which states that WHEN A COIL IS SET TO MOTION IN BETWEEN A UNIFORM MAGNETIC FIELD, THE ELECTRIC CURRENT IS INDUCED IN IT and the direction of MFL is given by Fleming's Right Hand Rule.
