The ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville tells her that he is so lonely and unhappy that he does not know what to do. He wants to sleep but can not. He has not slept for three hundred years. The ghost tells her that she must weep for him because she has no tears, she must pray for him because he has no faith and she must accompany him to the angel of death and beg for death's mercy upon the ghost of Sir Simon. Virginia does weep for him and pray for him. She goes with him to the Garden of death and bids the ghost farewell.

Hope it helps
