The force of gravitational attraction between two bodies is given as ,

F = Gm₁m₂ / R²

here , R is the distance between the two bodies.

The above formula proves that Force of gravitational attraction is inversely proportional to the square of distance .

If distance increases , the magnitude of force decreases and vice versa .
