how does the guru manage to save his disciples life

The guru Declares that he wants to be executed before his disciple because the person who is executed first will be reborn as a king. The king pushes the Guru aside and gets executed so that he is reborn as a king in his next birth. In this way the foolish King dies and the Guru manages to save his disciple.
