how does the heart perform pumping?

With each heartbeat , the pump on right side receives blood from the body and pumps it into the lungs to pick up oxygen, the pump on the left side receives the oxygen rich blood from the lungs and pumps it through out the body.

The blood needing oxygen is pumped out of the right ventricle, through the pulmonary value into the pulmonary artery .The pulmonary artery then divides into the right and left pulmonary arteries, carrying blood to the right and left lungs . In the lungs the blood gives up it's carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen
