Heat can flow from one object to another in the given three modes:

  • Conduction: In this, the heat is transferred between objects by direct contact due to the difference in temperature. On a molecular level, the heat is transferred through the collision between adjacent atoms. It is a slow process that takes place in solids.
  • Convection: In this, the heat transfer takes place due to the movement of fluid. It is relatively faster than conduction. It is caused by the difference in density between areas of different temperatures
  • Radiation: In this, the transfer of heat occurs through electromagnetic waves and does not involve particles. It happens when the heat waves are absorbed, reflected, or transmitted by the colder body.

These are the three modes of heat transfer.

  1. The heat flows from one body to another due to differences between tempraturetheir are three ways in which heat can transfer
  2. Conduction , Convection and Radiation these ways are directly , through fluid movement , and through EM waves

example :

  1. direct contact : coocking food directly through stove
  2. through fluid movement : drying clothes
  3. through EM waves : Earth gets heat up through waves coming from Sun
