The heat produced by sun reaches us in the form of solar radiation or radiation of heat which transmits in the form of waves.  

Explanation:

First of all, heat energy transmits from a hotter object [ matter ] to a colder one having lower temperature comparatively untill their temperature becomes equal[ Can also say : Heat travels from it's higher concentration area to the lower one for the even distribution or presence].

Radiation is one of the ways of heat transmission. In radiation, heat gets transmitted in the form of heat waves which do not require any medium of transmission [this is the reason why the heat energy emitted from the sun reaches us even in vaccum] .The heat waves emitted by the hotter body travels to the colder one in the form of heat waves which get absorbed by the colder body.[ Just a temperature difference is required] .

examples: the heat and light emitted by a burning candle is in the form of waves when its emitted
