Both the kernel and water of coconut constitute the endosperm. The difference is that the kernel is cellular endosperm [cytokinesis occurs immediately after every karyokinesis in the Primary endosperm nucleus(PEN) ] and the coconut water is free nuclear endosperm ( cytokinesis occurs after successive karyokinesis in the PEN).
